Sinovial: Injectable Hyaluronic Acid for Joint Health
Sinovial is a highly effective injectable hyaluronic acid (HA) designed to relieve pain and improve function in individuals with joint conditions like osteoarthritis, sports injuries and tendon pain.
What is Sinovial?
Sinovial is a viscoelastic hyaluronic acid injection that helps restore the natural lubrication and cushioning properties of synovial fluid within the joints. Hyaluronic acid is a vital component of healthy joint fluid, acting as a shock absorber and reducing friction between cartilage surfaces. However, in conditions like osteoarthritis and following injury, HA levels decrease, leading to joint stiffness, pain, and reduced mobility.
How does Sinovial work?
We use Diagnostic Ultrasound guidance to inject Sinovial. This helps to:
✔ Lubricate and cushion the joint, reducing friction and wear.
✔ Improves shock absorption, helping to distribute weight more effectively.
✔ Quickly reduce pain and stiffness by restoring the viscosity of synovial fluid.
✔ Supports cartilage health, slowing the progression of degenerative joint conditions.
An alternative to Steroid Injections
Historically, we would mainly use corticosteroid injections to manage persistent joint and tendon pain, but while steroids provide relief by reducing inflammation, they do not improve joint lubrication or long-term function. Steroid injections are very effective and we still perform many of these, but Sinovial offers an alternative.
HA products used in the past provide similar benefits listed above, but do not give the same rapid pain relief that Sinovial does. Usually we would combine HA injection with a steroid, all in one injection. However Sinovial does not need to be combined with a steroid injection—it works effectively on its own to improve joint function, reduce inflammation and reduce discomfort over a longer period.
Who can benefit from Sinovial?
Sinovial is ideal for patients experiencing:
✔ Osteoarthritis, particularly in the knee, hip, ankle or shoulder.
✔ Joint pain and stiffness that affects daily activities.
✔ Reduced mobility due to wear-and-tear or aging-related changes.
✔ Athletic injuries or overuse syndromes impacting joint function.
Why choose Sinovial?
- No prescription required – no delay in gaining the prescription for medication.
- Non-surgical alternative to pain management.
- Quick and effective – patients typically experience improvement within the first week.
- Well-tolerated and not painful to inject.
- As an adjunct to physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
